RAF Global Launches Social Support Programme in Gaza Province, Mozambique

Across its programme settings in rural Gaza, RAF Global has launched a targeted social support delivery system to strengthen safety nets for the most vulnerable households. In rural Mozambique, families already living with limited resources become especially at risk during the long dry season from June to October, when food shortages and economic constraints intensify.

To ensure fairness and transparency, RAF Global established a structured system for identifying beneficiaries. Beginning in June, meetings were held with community leaders to define clear selection criteria and agree on a community-led distribution approach. The agreed criteria included households living in extreme poverty, orphaned children in foster families, children cared for by elderly guardians, widows with limited resources, and individuals living with disabilities or chronic illness.

With this foundation, RAF Global launched distributions across three districts in Gaza Province. Each identified family will receive basic food staples monthly for the next three months, and at least twice a year. Additional distribution of clothes, notebooks, and soap will be provided—critical support to ensure children can remain in school despite economic pressures.
Through this programme, RAF Global aims to reach at least 800 of the most vulnerable families in 2025, reducing the risks of exclusion and helping rural communities in Gaza withstand difficult times with dignity and hope.
